ENERGY INDEPENDENCE,
MICROGENERATION – 17th September 2004
The next meeting of Cambrensis' Renewables and Hydrogen Contact Group
will be on Friday 17th September 2004 2-4p.m. at Middle Temple Hall,
Middle Temple Lane, London EC4, and will consider Distributed Generation.
Min
Zhu, Technical Adviser at Ofgem, the UK's gas and electricity regulator will be speaking about Ofgem's work on Distributed Generation,
and in particular the work on the next price round with Distribution
Network Operators, and on removing the barriers to small scale generation
and connections to the grid.
William
Wilson, Director, Cambrensis Ltd will be speaking on 'Energy
Independence for New Housing' . He will consider how this might contribute
to achieving the UK's Energy White Paper's goals, and particularly
energy efficiency and security of supply, given the UK government's
house building policies.
Jim
Watson, Research Fellow at the Science Policy Research Unit, Sussex
University and the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research will
give a presentation on the 'Economics of Microgeneration'. He will
be discussing the conclusions of his recent work in this area, and
future work on the topic with SPRU, Imperial College and Southampton
University.
