DAVID SLATER TO CHAIR UK NIREX CLG LIMITED

UK Nirex is now owned by government, having been made independent of the nuclear industry. The Secretaries of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and Trade and Industry will each hold a share in the Company Limited by Guarantee(CLG), set up to control UK Nirex Limited, . David Slater has been appointed the first independent chair of the CLG COMPANY.

Cambrensis Director William Wilson commented:-

“We are delighted at this recognition of David Slater’s enormous experience as an environmental regulator within government and as a scientist, academic expert and specialist environmental and risk management consultant in the private sector. It is a new chapter in a distinguished career.

David Slater said:-

“I am pleased to have taken up this post. It is imperative that we look to continue to ensure the availability and integrity of our national expertise on the long-term management of radioactive waste.”
