COMMUNICATING CLIMATE CHANGE
Cambrensis held a new kind of workshop around the idea of Communicating Climate Change at the Middle Temple in London on 19 October 2006.

Speakers included –
Owen GAFFNEY, Senior Writer, NERC on the current understanding of the scientific issues and the best ways to communicate them. His presentation included several recent film clips.
Ed GILLESPIE, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Futerra Sustainability Communications, with a striking presentation on effective communication.
Jane DENNY, Eco Schools Coordinator for Herefordshire, and Jamie ELLIOTT, Samantha JONES and Emily YOUNG of Weobley High School picked up the theme of communicating climate change to 11 to 18 year olds, and gave an impressive account of their school's environmental programmes and Green Flag award.
David SINGTON, Director and Executive Director of TV DOX gave what one other speaker described as a "master class in documentary and science film making", showing more film clips from his recent series.
Rt Revd John OLIVER, former Bishop of Hereford and Church of England spokesman on agriculture and environment spoke on climate change as a faith or ethical issue, exploring other motivations for taking effective action about it.
Dr David SLATER, Cambrensis, spoke about the interaction of science, risk and policy as drivers for or against effective climate change communication.
Discussions groups were chaired by Christopher BEAUMAN, EBRD, Fiona BOOTH, Guildford Borough Council, Saffron O’NEILL, Tyndall Centre, Rebecca TIMMINS, Centrica, David WELSH, Rolls Royce plc and William WILSON, Cambrensis
Following the workshop, a report will be submitted to the House of Commons Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee Inquiry into 'Climate Change – the Citizens' Agenda'
