EU REACH CHEMICALS REGULATION WORKSHOP

The EU’s REACH Chemicals Regulation 1907/2006 became law on 18 December 2006, and will enter into force on 1 June 2007. This high level workshop will aim to help businesses prepare for REACH implementation, and is presented by people who have been fully engaged advising on this legislation over the last two years.

Presented by:

Dr David Slater

David Slater has worked on chemicals policy at European Commission and for the UK government, and advised major clients on REACH. He chaired the EIMAG/European Commission workshop on Alloys and Special Preparation in Brussels in October 2006.

William Wilson

Environmental lawyer, has been involved in negotiations on the REACH Regulation over the last two and a half years; a member of the UK Metals Industry REACH Group, and is advising several major clients on REACH interpretation and implementation.

Tony Newson

EUROFER, joint chairman of EU alloys group EIMAG, industry representative on REACH Implementation Project 3.8 on Substances in Articles, closely involved in REACH negotiations and implementation for several years.

Preparing for Implementation

REACH Implementation Projects ‘RIPs’

Globally Harmonised System ‘GHS’ on classification and labelling

REACH and Special Preparations – metal alloys, rubber, glass, ceramics, concrete and cement

Participation in this workshop will cost £235 incl VAT. Lunch will be provided in Middle Temple Hall. Workshop participants will receive a CD Presentation ‘An Introduction to REACH’ allowing them to brief their own colleagues on the key aspects and timetable.
